Understanding the power of your mind

In order for our mind to have control over our physical bodies, we have to learn to shift from sympathetic nervous response, which is our body’s fight and flight response and which uses enormous amount of our energy to keep us safe from an imminent danger, to parasympathetic nervous system response, which helps us slow down and relax and keep our hormonal, digestive, immune, circulatory and other systems healthy. While our sympathetic nervous system deals with “chasing tigers”, all different kinds of traumas and storms, the parasympathetic nervous system deals with viruses, bacteria, molds, cancer cells, etc. If our body is in constant emergency state, meaning our sympathetic nervous system is switched on all the time, using most of our energy trying to keep us safe and alive, there is no energy left in our inner world to keep our immune, digestive, cardiovascular, hormonal etc. system strong and there is no energy left for our body to make white blood cells and protect us from infections and diseases.

So how do we change our mindset, switch our sympathetic nervous response to parasympathetic so that our immune system functions properly and how do you connect with yourself?

"WE NEED TO CHANGE THE WAY WE THINK, ACT AND FEEL."

DR. Joe Dispenza

Changing the way we think and feel will change our brain and physiology of our entire body. By learning to switch off the negative feelings and emotions that run our life from our subconscious scene we prevent our fears from controlling us and our actions. It is all about breaking the habit of being our old self, unlearning our behaviours, actions and emotions and instead creating a new self and a new life. In order to do that we need to change our energy from a state of survival to a state of creation so that we can transform from being a “victim” of the past and our environment to be being a “creator of our life”. Such change strengthens our immune system and signals new genes. According to Dr. Joe Dispenza's research we can change 8 genes in 4 days of appropriate meditation, as well as lengthen our life if for 60 days we practise changing from a state of survival to a state of creation. And if we can create and control our feelings and actions, we do not have to wait for life to happen to us. We simply create it. By changing our state of being.

"YOUR BODY DOESN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ACTUAL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR LIFE THAT CREATES AN EMOTION AND AN EMOTION YOU'VE CREATED BY THOUGHT ALONE."

DR. Joe Dispenza

A good start to changing our state of being is TRANSFORMING FROM FEARS TO GRATITUDE. When you feel gratitude you calm down your nervous system, you feel centered, you feel positive emotions of wholeness, love, care and kindness etc. rather than feeling destructive negative emotions of fear, anger, guilt or sadness. When you send your body such calming messages, your immune system does not have to worry about internal stressors like anxiety and fear. It has time to get into a state of growth and repair and it has energy to protect us from external stressors like viruses or bacteria.

It may be a good idea then to take care of the negative feelings and emotions that run our lives so that our body can keep attention on strong immune system and keep us healthy. Feelings are meant to be felt, acknowledged and released.

Meditating is one the most important skills to develop, particularly in these times when calming our minds is the key to keeping us healthy.

If our body can’t tell the difference between the external stressors and to them related emotions and emotions that we have created by thought alone, let’s create and become the authors of the new lives we desire.

According to Dr. Joe Dispenza, changing our fear to gratitude, care, kindness and appreciation for 10 minutes three times a day, can strengthen our immune system by 50%. If you do not give up your power and energy to other people and circumstances which all represent your external environment, and you focus on changing your internal environment to love and joy and peace, you will be able to better respond to stressors you CANNOT control, like for example exposure to a virus or bacteria, etc.

WHEN YOU USE GRATITUDE AS A TOOL, YOU NO LONGER LOOK FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE YOU CAN FEEL LIKE IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING. YOU'RE COUGHT UP IN THE ENERGY OF YOUR FUTURE."
